Hot DM Charts

2010, better than 2011

Since May of this year, 2 songs from 2010 reached out more than the 2011 songs.

Under the chart, DM Hot 100, Mac Miller's "Donald Trump" became one of the top songs on the DM Charts. Both DM Top 40 Alt DM stations tweeked the song back in May. Although never on air, SDTH D100 became the first to play the song. More than 500,000 listeners during the next 7 weeks.

DHR and Hot DC begun to incorporate the song in its spins and airings. DKIS-FM and DHRI-FM were amongst the first to play, reaching about 170,000 listeners the next several weeks. However, as the song begun to reach soundscan, The 2010 Alt DM hit "Knock Knock" begun hitting the airwaves. Soon thereafter, DM Top 40 and DHR stations started dropping the newer song for a song underplayed last year. During July and August, DKIS-FM, DHRI-FM, SDTH, SDVT, SMCC, DVRR, and ANDM saw huge increases in the numbers of requests for the song. It also mimicked in Urban Top 40, Rhythmic, and Urban Pop airplay.

This is similar to another artist, Marsha Ambrosius. The first song released on her album, Late Nights and Early Mornings, was "Far Away". At first the song had horrible feedback from the airplay of the stations. Only Urban POP, CSR, and Adult top 40 stations tweeked it. Then a few weeks later, DM Top 40, Alt DM, and DHR stations began adding the song. In the same vote as Mac's song, "I Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)", which was released on DM Hot 100 in 2010 and Alt DM, dropped and guzzled the previous song by 40 stations and +1099 spins. The single "Late Nights and Early Mornings" failed to beat both singles.
